The best traceability option for this application was the M4 Inline dot peen marking machine because of its customizable automation options. The machine marks steel tags used for the identification of parts after painting and galvanizing. Each plate is marked with:
- Name of the company
- The part number
- Quantity
Those variables are supplied with ASCII code, connected through an RS232 serial connection. Each steel plate takes 15 seconds to mark, and the M4 Inline marks about 50 parts each day.
